GBHS Band Soloists, Small Ensembles Present Contest Selections

Great Bend High School instrumental students will present their solo and small ensemble contest selections at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 31 in the GBHS Band Room (#190).
Soloists include: Catherine Barrington, Abigail Rose, Emily Barrington, flute; Anna Frizell, Kaitlynn Tuey, Taylor Dougherty, Kaitlin Adams, Alyxius Torres, clarinet; Michael Raymer, Jordan Otten,  alto saxophone; Santiago Talamantes, Ozioma Ofoma, tenor saxophone; Ben Diel, Gatlin Reed, Aaron Schultz, trumpet; Allison Regehr, French horn; Stephanie Langer, Michelle Rooney, Justin Love, Andrew Curtright, euphonium; Caleb Klein, snare drum; Dylan Vsetecka, quints; Dorian Lueth, viola; and Clara Kachanes, violin.
Ensembles playing, their members and title of piece are: Sophomore Brass Trio: Ben Diel, Andrew Erb, Kayn Milholland, “Fanfare Prelude”; Varsity Clarinet Trio: Anna Frizell, Kaitlynn Tuey, Maycie Hestand, “Eudora; and Varsity Trombone Trio, Kiralynn Bunn, Michelle Rooney, Aubrey Maneth “An Elizabethan Madrigal”. The String Quartet of Clara Kachanes, Jessica Freund, Dorian Lueth and Sara Nelson will also play.
Mr. Mark DeWald is the band instructor, and is assisted by Mr. Austin Russell; Mrs. Marlene Regehr is accompanist for the soloists. Mr. Isaac Enochs is the orchestra instructor, and Mr. Steven Lueth accompanies the string soloists.
The public is invited to hear these young musicians as they prepare for the Regional Music Festival on April 5 at Barton County Community College. There is no admission fee for Monday’s performance or at the Regional Festival.
