Track or Treat takes place from 5-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Great Bend High School’s Memorial Stadium. Enter from 19th St. on the east side of the track. There will also be a Haunted Hallway in the Panther Activity Center.
This is the third year that the GBHS Drama Club has sponsored Track of Treat as its community service activity, said club sponsor Holly Johnson. There are eight clubs, five businesses, five city entities and Upward Bound from Barton Community College involved in the event. They will each have their own spot on the track where they will pass out candy or toys to the kids. Most of the participants dress in costumes.
“The Drama Club will put together a haunted hallway through the PAC this year,” Johnson said. (Last year they did it under the bleachers.)
“There is a possibility that they will be doing some last-minute work on the track and if that is the case then we will have to move the event into the high school hallways. This would also happen if there is inclement weather. If inside, the entrance for the event will be the main entrance of the high school.”
