Three Great Bend Middle School band students were selected to participate in the Kansas Bandmasters Convention Honor Band on Friday, July 20, at Wichita. Pictured are, from left: Lorena Favela, conductor Brian Balmages, Sidney Cooper and Gabriella Reyes. The students were nominated for this honor by GBMS band director Don Regehr, who said the students presented an outstanding concert. Mr. Balmages, the clinician, is an active composer and conductor. He is the Assistant Director of Bands and Orchestras at Towson University in Maryland and Director of Instrumental Publications for the FJH Music Company.
