GBPD responds to gunshot wound call

The Great Bend Police Department responded to gunshot wound call at 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday at the Days Inn, located at 4701 10th St., Chief Cliff Couch said.
When they arrived, officers made contact with Alex Larussa who had been shot in the leg. Great Bend Fire/EMS responded and transported him to Great Bend Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was later sent to Wesley Medical Hospital in Wichita.
Officers are still investigating the incident, attempting to determine just what happened and where Larussa was actually shot, Couch said on Wednesday.
“The Police Department asks that anyone with information regarding this case contact the Great Bend Police Department at 620-793-4120 or Crime Stoppers at 620-792-1300,” Couch said. “Crime Stoppers is a program that allows people to provide information anonymously. If the information provided leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward as well.”
