GED orientation classes start in January

Barton Community College’s Center for Adult Education will soon be starting its 9-week GED Preparation Class.The orientation session, which is a prerequisite for the course, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Jan. 5-9 at 1025 Main St. in Great Bend. Those interested can call ahead or arrive on the first day of orientation. Regular coursework begins on Jan. 12 and is offered from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Tuesday and Thursday or in the evenings from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.Barton’s Coordinator of Adult Education Chris Lemon said he hopes students will view their GED as an open doorway to greater opportunities in post-secondary education.
