Junior Girl Scouts in grades 4-5 had fun learning all about gardening during “How Does Your Garden Grow?” at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center.
The girls explored butterfly and wildlife gardens, learned how to plan their own gardens, and helped the KWEC develop new gardens around its flagpole on May 27. The girls earned their Gardener badges and also got to take home their own plants.
“This was a great example of leading the way like a G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker and Leader),” said Darcy Gray from the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland. “Girl Scouts are committed to changing the world for the better and making a difference in their communities.
“Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland is proud to have a continued partnership with the Kansas Wetlands Education Center for fun and educational programming for local girls,” Gray said.
