Golden Belt Home Health & Hospice will sponsor a Monday evening grief support group in Great Bend from Aug. 18 through Oct. 13. It will meet each Monday (except Labor Day) from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Conference Room 103 of the Medical Building at 3520 Lakin in Great Bend.

Use the Lincoln Street entrance to this facility that is located just south of St. Rose Ambulatory & Surgery Center.

Hospice Chaplain John Grummon and GBHH&H Social Worker Cathy Soeken will co-facilitate the support group.  “Guided by qualified facilitators, group members will provide support and healing for one another,” Grummon said. “This group setting is a safe place to share, while doing the important work of mourning and learning new ways to approach problems.”

All discussions are confidential, Soeken added. “Participants can feel free to share their feelings and experiences,” she commented. “Sharing memories and photos is welcome and encouraged. This is a good way to allow other group members to know more about the loved ones being mourned.”

Anyone interested in attending the grief support group may contact Grummon or Soeken for further details by calling 620-792-8171.

GBHH&H has been serving central Kansas since 1979 and is part of the St. Rose family.

St. Rose is part of Centura Health, which connects individuals and families across western Kansas and Colorado with more than 6,000 physicians, 15 hospitals, seven senior-living communities, physician practices and clinics, and home-care and hospice services.
