The Great Bend City Band will begin rehearsals for their season beginning at 7:30 p.m. on May 28th at the Crest Theatre. Any instrumentalist who loves to play is welcome to participate in the band. Summer concerts will be given at the courthouse band shell and will begin Thursday, May 30th and every Thursday in June. A special big band swing concert will also be given at the band shell on Friday, June 28th. All outdoor concerts will begin at 8:15 p.m. In case of rainout, the concerts will be moved to the Crest theatre. Three concerts will be given in July in the Crest theatre. Those dates are at 7:30 p.m. on July 4th and at 8:15 p.m. July 11th and 16th. Concerts are open and free to the public. Free will donations are welcome.
This year the band will be under the direction of Steven Lueth, Barton Community College Director of Instrumental Activities. The City band will have its first rehearsal at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28th. Rehearsals will be at the Crest theatre every Tuesday at 7:30
