The Great Bend Fire Department has been receiving reports about people getting phone calls from someone claiming to be a Great Bend firefighter and asking for a donation. “This is a scam,” said Fire Chief Mike Napolitano. 

The Great Bend Fire Department will not contact anyone by phone for any fund raising of any kind, he said. “We were just trying to let people know we do our collecting face to face.”
