According to Deputy Fire Chief Brent Smith, by the time crews arrived, the fire had spread to the house and to the adjacent detached garage.

Crews contained the fire in 20 to 25 minutes and were on scene between an hour and an hour and a half to ensure the fire was under control.

No injuries were reported in the fire. Damage was estimated at $20,000 to $25,000.

Smith said the cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
