Great Bend Rec Commission announces summer programs

Great Bend Recreation Commission summer programs are set to begin the first of June and run through July.  Summer activities will be offered at the Recreation Center, Activity Center, Lincoln, Jefferson, Eisenhower, Park schools, Veterans Park and other locations throughout Great Bend.
 A variety of enrichment and recreation programs are available for children, ages 5 to 12 years old. Programs include arts and crafts, ceramics, pottery, cartooning, drawing, tennis lessons, cheerleading, Fourth of July crafts, cooking classes, dance classes, swimming lessons, outdoor experiences, day camps and a variety of fun mini classes.
Preschool programs for children ages 3 to 4 will also be held at various locations in Great Bend.  These programs include Crayola Kids, Mud Shop, Little Rascals Fun, Get Messy, dance classes, cooking and mini classes.
Program Coordinator Garet Fitzpatrick said the Recreation Commission will also offer family classes for children ages 4 to 10 accompanied by an adult on Saturday mornings. “These programs provide families an opportunity to spend some quality time together.”  
Adult classes for ages 18 and older include oil painting, golf and tennis tournaments. Aerobic classes also meet throughout the summer.
