WICHITA – The Wichita Police Department Thursday arrested a Great Bend High School senior as the second suspect in connection to the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy last weekend in Wichita. Authorities were still seeking a third suspect, WPD spokesman officer Paul Cruz said Friday.
Eric Stokes was shot and killed at Morgan’s Landing Apartments near 13th and West streets in Wichita on Sunday, April 25.
Breckyn Isabella Elliott, 18, of Great Bend, was arrested Thursday near 21st and Maize Road and is jailed without bond on one count of first-degree murder in commission of a felony, Sedgwick County booking records indicated. She is being held in lieu of a $250,000 professional surety bond.
Police arrested 18-year-old Easton Palmer Tuesday at a home in the 11200 block of west Dora on the same charges. He’s also being held on $250,000 bond.
However, 25-year-old Jaron Palmer is also wanted for first-degree murder and attempted aggravated robbery in Stokes’s death and he remained at large Friday.
According to a WPD news release, Stokes and four others were in an apartment when three armed suspects in masks forced their way inside. Stokes and the others went into a bedroom, and police allege the suspects fired several shots.
A second teen suffered minor injuries in the shooting. Investigators believe it was drug related.
