The motocross community will convene in central Kansas on Sept. 20-21 for the 2nd Annual Hahn Brothers Supercross Shootout. Hosted by nationally recognized and professional motocross racers Wil and Tommy Hahn, the shootout provides racing opportunities for pro and amateur racers, and an electric atmosphere for spectators and racers, the Hahns said.
Wil and Tommy grew up racing in and around Great Bend and consider this to be their home track. The track was rebuilt in 2013 for the inaugural race.
“We remember racing at the Great Bend track as kids and wanted to bring back the nostalgic small-town entertainment,” Wil said. “My brother and I are excited about year two of this race and giving back to this community, as well as pulling in all our professional racing buddies to draw a huge crowd. Being centrally located in the United States doesn’t hurt.”
Competing for a $7,500 pro purse, top talent is drawn to the Hahn Brothers Shootout for the 2 Moto Format Night Race. Amateur riders also will be given the chance to race under the lights in short-track motos on Saturday, Sept. 20.
Motocross requires technical skill, athleticism and speed, Wil said, noting he is taking a break from the circuit for rehabilitation from a shoulder injury. His most notable victory was claiming the 2013 American Motorcyclist Association’s coveted Eastern Regional 250SX Championship.
The Hahn Brothers’ Shootout will take place in conjunction with the 7th Annual Big Bend Bike Rally – an established regional event that serves as a popular destination for live music, all-day entertainment, vendors and free camping. The $10 gate admission provides access to both sides of the event, including all the amenities and entertainment; children 12 and younger are half price.
