The amount of wheat coming into area elevators was just a trickle at the start of the week but began to flow Tuesday afternoon.

By the end of the day, Great Bend Co-op elevators had taken in nearly 50,000 bushels, said CEO Duane Anderson.

That includes 9,000 bushels at Albert, 14,800 at Great Bend, 13,000 at Ellinwood, and 6,000 each at Russell and Dorrance. Added additional bushels from rounding, the day’s total was 49574 bushels, with test weights averaging 59-61, Anderson said. He did not have any yields to report at this stage of harvest.
