Heartland Farm will host its annual Open Farm Day from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 24.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Open Farm Day will look a bit different from past years. This year, guests attending will sign up for a scheduled 90-minute time slot to limit the number of guests on the farm at any one time. While admission is free, donations are welcome.

Guests will receive a tour of the farm, meet the herd of alpacas and flock of chickens, meet some Highland cattle, and have the opportunity to view farm-related demonstrations. Visitors can also walk the nature trails, feed Highland cattle from JCA Highlands, and purchase items from the gift shop.

Guests will need to wear masks.

Special activities for each time slot include:

9-10:30 a.m.: Learn about alpaca fiber and spinning

10:30 a.m. – noon: Walk with alpacas

noon – 1:30 p.m.: Learn about grass-fed beef with JCA Highlands

1:30-3 p.m.: Walk with alpacas

3-4:30 p.m.: Learn about Highland cattle with JCA Highlands.
