Hirsh guilty of threatening family

Darrin Hirsh is guilty of multiple counts relating to threatening his wife and children, a jury in Barton County District Court determined Tuesday afternoon.

He was found guilty of one county of aggravated assault and two counts of criminal threat, all felonies, and one county of domestic battery, a misdemeanor. He was found not guilty of two counts of witness intimidation and two counts of violating a protective order.

Hirsh was charged with threatening his wife Candice with a handgun and verbally threatening the life of her and their children on March 12, 2013, and with violating a protective order on March 11 and 12, 2014.  

His bond was revoked and was taken to jail. 

The trial started last week and the jury went home Friday evening following the end of testimony. Proceedings resumed Monday morning with jury instructions and closing statements.

The jury started deliberations Monday afternoon, but went home without a verdict. Deliberations resumed Tuesday morning and lasted until about 2 p.m.
