The Barton County Historical Society’s Village and Museum will be open Monday, May 30, from 1-5 p.m.
The museum is typically closed on Mondays, but the special opening will be available for families who may be visiting, said Beverly Komarek, executive director.
There is a new display in the museum in honor of all those from Barton County who have served their country. “Uniforms and artifacts from the Civil War through the Gulf Wars honor our brave patriots are on display,” Komarek said. “Kansas is called ‘The Soldier State’ for all those men and women who have served our country.”
The museum is located at 85 South U.S. 281, just south of the Arkansas River bridge in Great Bend.
