HOISINGTON — The Hoisington High School forensics team placed third out of 11 schools at Otis-Bison recently. Garrett Dykes placed first in humorous solo acting and second in impromptu speaking. Payton Dykes placed second in oration and fifth in impromptu speaking. In serious solo acting, Daphne Copp placed third, again narrowly missing State, and Miquala Purscell placed fifth. Sage Martinz and Daphne Copp placed fifth in improvised duet acting. Trevan Brown placed fifth in humorous solo. In duet acting, Max Gray and Heavin Hipp placed fourth, and Brayden Copp and Jarrett Shives placed sixth. Victoria Luttrell, Kejlt Phillips, Kelsi Dalton, Bryce Hopkins, Madison Grandclair, and Karen Lovett contributed to the team effort.

In other action at Great Bend, Payton Dykes placed first in oration and third in impromptu speaking.  Garrett Dykes placed first in humorous solo acting and fifth in extemporaneous speaking.  Karen Lovett placed third in prose, qualifying for State!  Miquala Purscell placed sixth in extemporaneous speaking, and Trevan Brown placed sixth in humorous solo acting.  Bryce Hopkins, Brayden Copp, and Jarrett Shives contributed to the team effort.
