The Barton County Landfill will host the first scheduled Household Hazardous Waste collection of 2021 from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 17, at the landfill, located at 350 NE 30 Road.  

The HHW program is provided at no cost to the public to prevent household hazardous materials from being placed in the landfill and to protect the environment. Landfill staff will be on site to assist unloading of vehicles. Acceptable wastes include: household cleaning products; paint/finishing products; garden/pest control products; automotive product; waste oil; used antifreeze. 

Unacceptable wastes include: commercial, business, or farm waste; infectious waste; radioactive waste; asbestos; explosives; laboratory chemicals.
