DODGE CITY — Congressman Tim Huelskamp announced Thursday he had nominated Bryce Divis to attend the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Military Academy. Divis is the son of Stephen and Dixie Divis.
For more than two centuries, young men and women have applied for entrance into the highly regarded United States Military Academies, Huelskamp said. The process is rigorous, and requires an applicant have a history of personal discipline and a commitment to his or her school and community.
Members of Congress have the distinct privilege of nominating outstanding young men and women to attend the nation’s military academies. Congressman Huelskamp recruited a board of Kansans to review applicants with the board providing recommendations.
“I am honored to nominate these distinguished men and women to attend our nation’s military academies,” Congressman Huelskamp said. “Each has shown a tremendous dedication to his or her school work and extracurricular activities as well as to their communities. These young men and women have bright futures ahead of them, and I have no doubt that they will serve our country well.”
Divis was one of 18 individuals Huelskamp recommend for nomination. Other Kansas First District nominees are:
