Incredible Years Preschool has scheduled an open house for anyone interested in learning more about its comprehensive programs for children age 2-and-a-half to 5, Director Shari Schneider said. It is set for 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13 at the preschool, 1312 Patton.
However, parents are encouraged to get an application for fall enrollment before the open house, if possible. They can call or stop by the preschool between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Tuition costs are based on income with a sliding-fee scale.
“We strongly encourage parents to pick up an application for fall enrollment sooner rather than later,” Schneider said. “Our classes will fill up quickly and we want to accommodate as many families as we can.”
While the come-and-go open house is designed to allow children to become acquainted, or re-acquainted with the school, the event is open to the public.
“This is a good way to introduce the little ones and their parents to our teachers and our program,” Schneider said. “Other members of the community also are welcome to stop in and learn about our excellent preschool program.”
The Summer Fun program recently ended and the fall term begins Aug. 19. Older children will attend four half-days a week, and the 3 year olds will be in the classroom three mornings a week. The younger ones attend twice a week.
“We have expanded our offerings for this fall term,” Schneider noted. “The waiting list was growing so we are providing more classroom days.
“Incredible Years has been growing in popularity because of our professional staff,” she continued. “We understand how to promote children’s skills so they progress socially, cognitively and creatively.”
Cathy Estes, consultant early childhood director, echoed Schneider’s comments, encouraging parents to take advantage of Incredible Years’ many benefits.
“Whether your child is just starting out, ready for new opportunities to learn and socialize with peers or preparing for kindergarten, there is a place for you,” Estes said. “We have been hearing wonderful feedback from parents and the school system.
“Parents tell us they are delighted to have a stepping-stone for their child before age 3,” she added. “And the school system praises our pre-kindergarten program.”
