The Kansas Highway Patrol responded to a vehicle crash at 2:08 p.m. on Sunday at mile marker 109 on North U,S, 281 in Barton County.
According to reports, a 2013 Dodge Ram driven by Denise Wagner, 64, of San Patricio, Tenn., was traveling north on U.S. 281. A 2011 Ford Focus driven by Beverly Retzlaff, 66, of Hoisington was southbound. A tire on the trailer being pulled by Wagner’s vehicle came off, striking the Ford Focus in the window and then hitting the driver.
Retzlaff was taken to Clara Barton Hospital for her injuries. Wagner was not injured and both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
