Jean Kay Bird McClelland will be 100 years old on Nov. 26, 2018.

Jean is the daughter of Harry and Ruth Bird and the sister of Ted Bird. She grew up on the farm near Albert. She finished high school and secretarial school in Independence. She worked for Kansas Power and Light in Great Bend for several years. She later moved to Denver, Colo., and worked for Rocky Mountain Arsenal for many years.

She lives now in an assisted living home near Sacramento, Calif., and is married to Jerre McClelland. A party is planned for Jean by her nieces Suzy Baldwin and Carolyn Bird, who live close by.
