Dara Touselee’s kindergarten class at Park Elementary School in Great Bend celebrated Kansas Day, Jan. 29, with a week of activities. Tuesday was Farm Day, Wednesday was Native American Day, Thursday was Pioneer Day – so students made a wagon train – and Friday was Cowboy Day.
On Jan. 29, second-grade students at Lincoln Elementary celebrated Kansas Day by answering Kansas trivia questions that were hidden inside yellow balloons that the students popped. They wore birthday crowns, ate sunflower cookies, and followed step-by-step directions on how to draw a bison.
Their teachers are Meredith Ramsey and Anna Loera.
