A car travels down Williams Street across from the Great Bend Public Library Friday afternoon. On Monday, weather permitting, pavement improvement projects on Kansas Avenue and Williams Street from 10th to 16th streets will begin. The work will take about 60 days to compete.

Construction hours will generally be 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Driving lanes and parking areas will be closed at various times throughout the project area.

This project will take place in two phases: First, sub-base patching; and second, milling off the old asphalt and overlaying new asphalt.

The contractor for the job is Venture Corporation of Great Bend.
