A $2.9 million resurfacing of K-4 in Rice County is expected to begin soon.

The Kansas Department of Transportation project will involve a milling and hot-mix-asphalt overlay on K-4 from the Barton/Rice county line to the Rice/Ellsworth county line. The length is almost 25.4 miles.

During the work – scheduled to start around June 14 and be completed around mid-July – traffic will be restricted to one lane and controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should be prepared to stop and face delays of up to 15 minutes.

Venture Corp. of Great Bend is the primary contractor for the $2,935,340 project.
