Keener receives Quilt of Valor

United States Navy veteran Don Keener was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on May 28, 2021 at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend, Kansas.

Don served from 1994 to 2000, as a radar operator aboard the USS Kauffman (FFFG-58). He was sent on counter drug deployments to the Caribbean Sea in 1996 and 1996. Don also completed NATO deployments to the Mediterranean Sea in 1998 and 2000. 

The quilt top was made by Phyllis Manhart, quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor.
