LARNED — Patty Smith welcomed the chapter at her rural home at 2 p.m. Monday.
Communication from the International chapter included the Beta Sigma Phi International Convention in Kansas City, Mo. scheduled in August. Six hundred members have registered for the convention to be held in the Crown Center area.
A leave of absence was granted to Rosie Rein and members voted to include new institutions for the Endowment Fund.
Discussion was held concerning the members for the Golden Circle of Friendship and for the new Torchbearers Degree. The Beta Drill was on installation of officers and the pledge to the chapter by members.
Merlene Baird volunteered to chair the scrapbook committee with other members volunteering to help.
Wadonna King, 2014 Valentine Queen announced the upcoming Valentine Dinner and crowning of the 2015 queen, Alice Clapsaddle. The event will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Reidener Inn in Rozel. Marcia and Dick King will assist with the photographs.
Connie Carlton presented the program on the yearly theme of the sorority family, “Are You a Chocolate Chip,” taken from the history of the Toll House Inn dating from 1705. The hostess served refreshments during the extensive social hour.
The next meeting is scheduled at 7 p.m. March 9 at Wadonna King’s home.
On the agenda will be the Torchbearers Degree Ritual for Marcia King and Alice Clapsaddle and election of officers.
Merlene Baird will present the program and distributed family ancestry record homework which will be due at the March meeting.
