LARNED — Members of the Larned Quilting Bees met Tuesday, Nov. 7 at the First Presbyterian Church, Larned.
With the consensus of the group, Ann Hicks will serve as president and Colleen Wolf as treasurer beginning with the January meeting. Dues will continue to be the same as last year with monies donated to the church for the meetings.
The guild will not meet on Tuesday, Nov. 21 with the next scheduled meeting, a Christmas party and gift exchange at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5. Members are to bring finger foods and for an optional gift exchange. Diann Morell will furnish the festive holiday paper goods.
A report was given by Diann Morell on the recent successful Quilting Diva Sale. Several prayer quilts have been made and delivered during the month of November. Anyone in the community may join the guild and/or come to the twice monthly meetings. Guests are welcome. For additional information, call the church office at 285-6033.
Show and Tell participants featured Alice Clapsaddle, pillow constructed like a mountain; Diann Morell, placemats and quiet books; Colleen Wolf, butterfly panel and fabric and aprons made from kitchen towels and vintage doilies; Virginia Bauer, felt and wool Christmas ornaments.
