Quilting Bees meet

LARNED — The annual Quilter’s Celebration sponsored by The Quilting Bees will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 2
in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church in Larned. This free event will feature demonstrations in the morning followed by a potluck lunch and a quilt trunk show in the afternoon.  The public is invited.
Some of the demonstrations included will feature topics as Landscape Quilt, Fun with Yo Yoes, New Log Cabin Quilt, Sewing on a Quilt Sleeve, Twister Quilt, Crazy Quilt, Unconventional Pineapple Quilt, Whimsy Ball to name a few.  A Peddler’s Corner with items for sale, free table with fabrics and other quilting supplies will be available as well as door prizes throughout the day.  
Prior to the trunk show, Sandra Donavan will give a brief review of the history of quilting.  The trunk show will include vintage quilts as well as more modern versions.
A completed and quilted Opportunity Quilt will be available for viewing with donations for a drawing.  Members of the guild made original blocks in brick, tan and navy.
