Benefit supper for Rainbolt to be Saturday
LARNED -- The Larned High Class of 1974 and First United Methodist Church will sponsor a benefit supper for Randy Rainbolt from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 19 at the First United Methodist Church, 701 Main.
Free-will offerings will help defray medical costs and related expenses for a liver transplant for Rainbolt, who is recuperating at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City. Sloppy Joes, baked beans and  desserts will be served. A silent auction will be conducted for donated items. A Karaoke machine will provide entertainment.

Kindergarten Round-up
LARNED -- Friday, Hillside Elementary will be having a kindergarten round-up for all children who will be attending kindergarten during the 2011 - 12 school year, to prepare students and parents. School personnel will be screening vision, hearing, speech, motor skills, and basic concepts. Pre-enrollment for the fall term will also take place.
Physicals to enter kindergarten are now required in Kansas.  Physicals can be obtained at the Health Department on a walk-in basis, or make appointments for other times.  Cost is $30, and they will bill Blue Cross Blue Shield for physicals and immunizations for parents with coverage.  Call the Health Department at 285-6963 for additional information.  Please bring your child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and social security number.  (To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be 5 years of age on or before August 31, 2011.) Larned goes by the number starting April 1
LARNED -- City of Larned would like to remind the public that all houses and businesses must be numbered  on the side facing the street. All numbers must be legible and visible from the street. The minimum size is 3 inches. The maximum size is 10 inches; they must be simple and bold. Mobile homes and apartments must be numbered. Businesses must number both their front and rear entrances /exits. Violations will result in a complaint filed in Municipal Court for failure to comply.
