Pancake feed tonight

ROZEL — The Rozel United Methodist Church will sponsor its annual pancake and sausage supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Burdett to hold meeting

BURDETT — There will be a town hall meeting scheduled in Burdett Thursday in the former grade school gymnasium. Doors will be open at 5:30 p.m.
At 6:30 p.m. there will be a representative from the United States Postal Service to talk about the closing of the Burdett Post Office.
Coffee hour set

The Larned Chamber of Commerce coffee hour will be hosted by Pawnee Valley Sport and Spine Physical Therapy and Advanced Rehabilitation, 522 Broadway, at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Pawnee Valley employees will tell about their services.

Tired Iron resumes Friday

LARNED — The Santa Fe Trail Center will sponsor a Tired Iron Show Rain Day Friday. Saw milling begins at 9 a.m. and will continue throughout the day. The Kids Corn Coin Hunt will be at 12:30 p.m.. Wheat Threshing will start at 1 p.m. and a corn shelling demonstration will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Pumpkin Patch to open

LARNED — The Sandstone Pumpkin Patch, 914 W. 2nd, will be open to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Larned council to meet

LARNED — The Larned city council has scheduled a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24 at the council meeting room.
A pending contract for the sale of the National Guard Armory to Heartland Irrigation of Moundridge will be reviewed.
Other agenda items include American Legion Riders Presentation, Chamber Ambassadors Christmas Parade, Boiler Repair for Library, Chamber of Commerce Rural Opportunity Zone Discussion, Public Facilities Grant-HVAC Bids; Letter for RICE Regulations and an Executive Session.

Benefit set for Oct. 24

LARNED — Healthy Choice Clinic, Scraps and The Quilting Bees are sponsors of the third annual fundraiser to benefit the Breast Cancer Assistance Fund, at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24 at Larned’s First Presbyterian Church. The theme is ‘Get Your Pink On!’ and will include a dinner and a ‘Purse Swap.’ The ‘Purse Swap’ is an auction of new, donated purses, handbags, totes and other items.
