Quilting Bees meet

LARNED — In the absence of the president, Colleen Wolf welcomed the Quilting Bees Guild and especially Lavada Kraft of Great Bend at the Feb. 5 meeting at the First Presbyterian Church.  
Members arrived at 5 p.m. to work on prayer quilts and special projects with the meeting beginning at 7 p.m.
Announcements included the “Dream Catcher” Showcase on May 5-18 at Century II in Wichita.  The public is invited and further information may be obtained at www.mqsshow.org.
The February fat quarter drawing on presidents will be at the Feb. 19 meeting with a 5 p.m. sewing followed by the meeting at 7 p.m.  
Members are urged to begin projects for the Pawnee County Fair in July.
Show and Tell participants were  Melvina Prescott, “Braid in a Day,” strips; Alice Clapsaddle, Kansas City Star Quilt notebook to be on permanent loan to the guild starting with the 2004 series; Sandy Donovan, two darling dark red dresses trimmed in white for grand daughters for Valentine’s Day; Virginia Bauer, blue and brown strips for “Braid;” Merlene Baird  “Braid” quilt sent to the quilter; Diann Morell, “Braid” quilt top in purples and kelly green; Colleen Wolf, “Sudoko” quilt in browns and greens; Virginia Bauer and Diann Morell, five prayer quilts recently completed.
