The KU Financial Aid and Scholarship Office has selected Mallory Kraft, a recent graduate from GBHS, as the initial recipient of the Nossaman Scholarship. Kraft is an honor student at KU, majoring in geology.

This scholarship is a new award this school year, and is awarded annually on the basis of merit and need to a student attending the University of Kansas, with priority given to students graduating from Great Bend High School. The award carries an annual stipend of $1,000 and can be renewed for up to four years.

The award honors the memory and civic contributions of Jean and Larry Nossaman, long-term residents of Great Bend.
