A Great Bend man who allegedly had child pornography on a cellphone was arrested Tuesday by the Great Bend Police Department.

Juan Manuel Jurado-Garcia was booked into the Barton County Detention Center on a charge of sexual exploitation of a child. His bond was set at $50,000.

Detectives with the Great Bend Police Department received information and then started an investigation. They then received additional assistance from the local Department for Children and Families. With the combined efforts of DCF and the GBPD, police detectives were able to obtain a search warrant for an individual’s cellular phone contents.

According to a statement issued Tuesday, a preliminary search of the device confirmed the suspicion of child pornography on the phone and resulted in Jurado-Garcia’s arrest. The investigation is still ongoing.
