As of the Monday deadline to file campaign finance reports, Kansas First District congressional candidate Roger Marshall had $86,214 on hand after receiving contributions totalling $1,176,285, and his Independent rival Alan LaPolice had $41,715 available after net contributions of $98,671.
The information detailing their campaign income and expenses are outlined in information filed with the Federal Election Commission.
Marshal, an obstetrician/gynecologist from Great Bend and political newcomer, upset two-term Republican incumbent Tim Huelskamp in the Aug. 9 primary. After making a strong showing against Huelskamp as a Republican challenger in the 2014 primary, LaPolice, a Clyde farmer, is running as a third-party candidate this time around.
