McQuade receives Quilt of Valor

Jeffery McQuade receives a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on Jan. 15, 2021, in Ellinwood.

United States Army Veteran Staff Sergeant Jeffery McQuade was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on Jan. 15, 2021, in Ellinwood, Kansas. McQuade served from 1996 to 2016 as a veterinary technician. He served at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, where he took care of and trained horses and dogs for the United States Border Patrol. McQuade also served at Fort Buchanan in Puerto Rico, and at Naples, Italy. While stationed in Italy, he cared for and trained bomb-sniffing dogs that were sent to Afghanistan.
