If you’ll soon be getting Medicare, or just want to know more about Medicare, experts on Medicare will present a “Medicare Basics” workshop from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, at the J.H. Robbins Memorial Library, 219 N. Lincoln, Ellsworth that will cover essential Medicare information and provide answers to your questions.
The presentation is an “Answers for Older Kansans” (AOK) workshop sponsored by The North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging. There is no cost to attend the workshop, however, advance registration is advised. Call 1-800-432-2703 to reserve your place.
“The Medicare Basics workshop provides unbiased and easy-to-understand information for anyone interested in learning more about the Medicare,” Julie Govert Walter, Executive Director of the North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging said.
“It’s geared to those nearing age 65, those who will soon to qualify for Medicare because of a disability and to people who are helping family members with insurance and financial matters,” Walter said.
Marsha Rogers with the Area Agency’s Senior Health Insurance Counseling for Kansas (SHICK) program will cover Medicare eligibility, how and when to apply, what is covered in Medicare’s various parts and how to fill coverage gaps. She will also review programs available that help low-income Kansans cover Medicare costs and what you need to know to about Medicare fraud.
