Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! My name is Hannah Grippin, I am the new Outreach manager at the library. A little about me, I’m from Oregon, I moved to Kansas about 3 years ago for school. I’ve enjoyed learning about Great Bend and the community here. I look forward to keeping you all informed about all the wonderful things the library has to offer. 

This week we have lots of fun activities planned for children and families. There is our code club, open to kids third grade and up, so even teens can join. Code club will be a great time for the technology inclined to come learn how to make websites, video games, and even apps. We also have baby bounce and early literacy storytime on Thursdays. Parents can come and engage with young ones through story, movement, and play- build a lifelong love of reading early! On Thursdays, we as always, have Luna our pet partner for kids to read to. Luna is a great listener and loves to be told stories. Thursday is also a great time for math as well as reading. Kids kindergarten through 5th grade can join our Crazy 8’s Math Club. Fun activities that get kids excited to problem solve. Registration for this event is on our website, greatbendpl.info, which is required for this club. Rounding out our week of great activities for our younger patrons and families, we have Storytime followed by playtime, at the great bend rec center, on Wednesday. Come hear stories, sing, and dance, then after storytime play in the gym or backyard playground.
