Great Bend Police arrested David Meitler, age 55, on multiple drug possession charges after a traffic stop Sunday afternoon.
According the GBPD, at 1:52 p.m. Sunday, a GBPD officer stopped a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am in the 2700 block of 24th Street for a traffic violation. While on the traffic stop, the GBPD K-9, Menta, was deployed for a sniff around the vehicle. Menta indicated to an odor of an illegal drug in the vehicle.
The car was searched and suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found. Meitler, the driver of the vehicle, was arrested and booked at Barton County Jail for possession and for a broken windshield. He was released after posting a $10,000 surety bond.
