Minor train derailment in Great Bend A train derailed near the 2800 Block of Railroad Ave. on Wednesday morning. It is believed that the train jumped the track at a switch, which caused the rear of the second engine to come of the rails and puncture the fuel tank, spilling fuel. According to railroad officials, the 1,700-gallon tank had just been filled. The Great Bend Fire Department, Barton County Sheriffs Office and the Haz-Mat Response team were on scene.
