First Congregational United Church of Christ will hold its 13th annual Monterrey Dinner next week. Serving will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at the church, 3400 21st St. in Great Bend. An accessible entrance is located on the Polk Street side.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $3.50 for children age 6 years and younger. Tickets are available from church members or may be purchased at the door. Take-out will be available.
“This is a generous tostada-style dinner, drink and unique dessert that consists of ice cream, banana, caramel-jalapeno pepper sauce and cookies,” said church member Mary Ann June. “Proceeds from the dinner will be sent to Haiti through the Star of Hope to help people become more self sufficient. It is important to see that people are struggling to live with dignity and our faith challenges us to understand that our lives are all interconnected.”
