“Camp,” a movie inspired by the stories of foster children, will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at First Assembly of God Church, 601 S. Patton Road, Great Bend.
The movie is based on the true experiences of campers involved with Royal Family Kids Camp, and is designed to raise awareness about a non-profit program that will take place in Great Bend this summer. Admission is free, with concessions available, benefiting the summer camp.
Royal Family Kids Inc. is a national network of camps for abused, neglected and abandoned children. By mobilizing local churches to sponsor a one-week camp for these children in their communities, the organization gets caring adults involved in the lives of children who need them. Each camp has two goals: Make positive childhood memories for the kids and let them experience unconditional love from an adult.
“Camp” is rated PG-13.
