The Great Bend High School Athletic Department recently released guidelines for spectators and athletes participating in or attending football games at GBHS’s Memorial Stadium this fall. Enhanced safety measures and social distancing protocols will be implemented at the first home game scheduled for Friday, September 11.
“We’re working to ensure that athletic programs continue to be a positive and healthy opportunity for our students,” said David Meter, GBHS athletic director. “All of our athletes have worked hard to get on the field or court this fall and we hope the community can understand the added layers of safety precautions that will support the health and wellness of our students, spectators and community as a whole.”
Highlighted guidelines pulled from the document, include:
• Social distancing requirements and mask requirements in specific areas and when social distance cannot be maintained
• Reduced capacity of reserved seating by 50%
• Nonessential personnel will not be allowed on the field
• Additional crowd size limits may be considered under the guidance of the Barton County Health Department
• Spectators and athletes will be asked to exit the stadium immediately following the game
A limited number of football season tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the GBHS Athletic Office at 620-793-1560.
