Once again, Barton County residents who party on New Year’s Eve will be able to get a ride home for as little as $10.

The New Year’s Eve Taxi will run from 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, until 3 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, taking people anywhere in Barton County for a minimum donation of $10 per person. The number to call is 620-639-TAXI (620-639-8294).

The Great Bend Police Department works with Eagle Radio  to provide this service. An off-duty GBPD officer will do the driving.

Sponsors note this service is for getting home, not for going to another party or bar. Proceeds will go to the GBPD’s Shop with a Cop program.

Eagle Radio announced on the Great Bend Post that it will match donations up to $500.
