HOISINGTON — Hoisington’s second annual ATV rodeo was held yesterday in south Hoisington on a bright, sunny day with comfortable temperatures.

"We did pretty good this year," said Ryan Schneider, event organizer. "We have a good time for charity."

Kans for Kids received the proceeds from the gate charges and Hoisington Main Street Inc. received the proceeds from the concessions.

There were a wide range of classes: for children, ages 13 and under; youth, ages 14 to 18; 2wd, 18 and over; 4 wd, 18 and over; 40 and over, 2 wd or 4 wd; women’s 2wd or 4wd; utv, partners.

There will be an obstacle course, barrel race, polls, and capture the flag. The best combined times of all events won.

The prizes included trophies for those the first three places for those in the child category. Each child received an ice cream treat. There were cash prizes for all other categories.

"We’d like to thank all of our sponsors," said Schneider.

The event was sponsored in part by the Central Kansas Off Road Association-Radium Bridge Riding Club. A membership in the association costs $50 per year.
