HOISINGTON — The Chamber Board of Directors and the Labor Day Committee announces the winner of the “Name Our Labor Day!” Contest!  The winning submission of “Homegrown-Hometown-Hoisington!” came from Darlene Demel, and she has been awarded with the $50 Hoisington Chamber Gift Certificate.
“We would like to thank everyone who submitted their ideas,” said Krisit Lovett, chamber executive vice president. “There were many great ideas and it was a tough decision to make. We would especially like to thank the school kids who submitted ideas. Even though we didn’t end up picking one of theirs, many ideas were very thoughtful. One idea from Rudy Gearheart, age 14, was that everyone wear red to the parade to show our Cardinal Spirit.  Now, that is a great idea and one we will try to use this year!”
The next step for the Labor Day Committee is to come up with a Logo for this theme, said Lovett. If “Homegrown-Hometown-Hoisington” brings up any specific thoughts that could be translated into a logo, let them know. The logo needs to be completed by the beginning of April, so it’s time to move on this!
