City of Hoisington council to meet
HOISINGTON — The Hoisington City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 13 at the city offices. They will hold a budget hearing and then continue with the regular meeting.
Items on the agenda include a special presentation from Golden Belt Community Foundation, code enforcement update, discussion of the state health insurance plan, consideration of the budget and appropriations.
Historical Society to have picnic
ELLINWOOD — The Ellinwood Historical Society will hae a summer picnic at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 17. It will be at the Immanuel UCC Church, 701 N. Frtiz.
Heritage Club to have potluck
ELLINWOOD — The Ellinwood Heritage Club will have a potluck at noon on Monday. New Ellinwood High School football coach Dustin Bean will be introduced.
Hospital Auxiliary to have breakfast

OTIS — USD 403 Otis-Bison school board will meet at 7 p.m. on Aug. 13. They will hold a budget hearing, followed by a regular school board meeting.
Retirement reception to be held for USD 431 employees
HOISINGTON — A retirement reception will be held for Betty Steiner and Darlene Stoss from 5-7 p.m. at the Hoisington Activity Center, 1200 Susank Rd. This will be a come and go reception with a presentation at 6:30 p.m. A card with a favorite story about these employees would be appreciated.
