Central Plains Middle School would like to recognize Katie Gleason and Alex Barton as the December Students of the Month.
Katie is the daughter of Samantha Bowen and Matt Hutchens and is in the 7th grade.  She has three siblings, Devon. Gunner and Avery.   
Katie participated in volleyball and currently is playing basketball.  Her favorite class in school is English.  When asked what she likes best about school, she replied, “Being with my friends and learning more every day.”  
Mr. Potter, PE/Health teacher, stated, “Katie has a fun personality and is friendly to her schoolmates. Katie cares about her grades and she is always prepared to participate no matter what the activity is.”
Alex is the son of Sandy Barton and Brad Barton and is an eighth grader at CPMS.  Alex has one brother, Joe.  
Alex represents his class as a Renaissance Council member and participates in football, basketball and track. His favorite subject in school is English.  What Alex likes best about school is, “Learning, which will lead to more opportunities to do things later on.”    
Mrs. Dohrman commented, “Alex has shown real leadership on the door decoration project.  He is a good student who does his best in the classroom and on the athletic field.”
Mrs. Weber stated:  “Alex is a very responsible student.  He excels academically, participates in class discussion, and willingly does what he is asked to do.  He has great leadership qualities and is a good role model for the students in our building.”
