CLAFLIN — The governing body of the City of Claflin met in regular session, Monday, March 11, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the city building.  Present were: Mayor Michael Urban, Councilpersons Kirk Schneweis, Kelly Nixon, Casey Hubbard and Leon Oberle.  Also present: City Attorney Bob Suelter, City Clerk Patricia Schmidt, Robert Gunder, Richard Hayes, Liz Praeger, Randy Oeser and Ryan Oeser.
No “J” Turn signs will be put up on Main and Hamilton Streets.  Oberle moved to remove the “No U-Turn” signs on Albro and Park Streets.  Hubbard seconded with all in favor.
The entrance off of Main to 111 Main has been tabled to the April meeting.
Liz Praeger went over the city’s insurance coverage.  A few changes will be made and rates will be refigured.
No action taken on parking in yards.
By council consensus, the wage for assistant pool manager(s) will be $9.50 an hour.  
City guys will begin tearing down the interior of the old community center now and tear down the rest of the building in the fall.  They can get protective equipment as needed.  A fence and warning signs will be placed around the building.
The city wide clean-up is scheduled for April 26 thru May 5.
By council consensus, the city will hire one person for part time summer help.  
It is required by ordinance that all businesses have trash service, so it cannot be removed.
Two dilapidated properties will have an asbestos inspection will be done at 506 Main and 304 Albro before demolition.  
Oberle moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:38 p.m.  Nixon seconded with all in favor.
